Do you have a passion for Scouting history? Are you intrigued with stamps and postcards from yesteryear?
From the 8th – 12th of November the Cape Town International Philatelic Exhibition and the South African National Philatelic Exhibition are taking place at the Cape Town International Convention Center. Doors will be open from 9am to 6pm daily and the entrance is free.
There will be two Scouting related exhibits on display at the International Philatelic Exhibition:
- A thematic exhibit under the name ‘Jamboree : The Story of the World Scout Jamboree’ will be shown on the 8th and the 9th of November.
- A traditional exhibit under the name ‘The Mafeking Blues’ will tell the story of the famous stamps used during the Siege of Mafeking, and can be viewed from the 10th – 12th of November.
There will be one Scouting related exhibits on display at the National Philatelic Exhibition:
- The exhibit ‘Scouting through Picture Postcards’ will highlight the early history of the Movement from 1907 to 1929, and will be on display for the entire exhibition.
