Facilities
This page is the primary starting point for booking any of the facilities in the Western Cape Region for Scouts South Africa. While each facility has some slight differences in process, they are all outlined on each facilities page.

Booking Calendars
Each facility has its own booking calendar that shows it’s availability. To view this, you can click on the separate pages below.
Refunds & Deposits
Each of the properties will fall under the following rules for refunds and deposits:
– 50% of total fee must be paid to make a booking
– Full payment must be made at least 14 days before date of use
– 50% of the booking fee is forfeited if event cancelled within 30 days of the event start
– 100% of the booking fee is forfeited if event is cancelled within than 14 days of the event start
Groups that are not in good standing will pay non-member rates. Our facilities are open for Scouting and Non-Scouting Members. T&C’s apply.
Fault Reporting
In order to better streamline the fault reporting for all things property in the Western Cape we have created a ticket system that allows one and all to report faults and issues with anything related to the facilities, be it: the booking system, an individual property, or even just a general thought. Gilpine Hall
Gilpine is a District hall located in Pinelands. It is available for use for courses and scout events over weekends and most nights of the week. It is not suitable for overnight camping. It has chairs, a projector and some tables, a kitchen and a grassy area at the back.
Rotary Scout
Rotary Scout is a 39’ cruising yacht owned by SCOUTS South Africa. Used for an extensive sailing programme throughout the year that includes sailing training of scouts, development programmes for under-privileged children and ocean racing.
Appleton Scout Camp
Small campsite in magnificent location on top of Signal Hill overlooking Cape Town and the Atlantic coast.
A small camp ground, a bunk house with 20 beds, kitchen with stove and fridge, ablutions and electricity. No swimming or equipment hire.
Transport: MyCiti Bus to Kloof Nek and then a 2.5km walk along Signal Hill Road
Sea Scout Base
Beautifully located facility on Sandvlei lagoon.
Camping & indoor accommodation, hall, kitchen, ablutions, electricity and water, sailing and watersports.
Scout Events Only
Scout Mountain Club Hut
Unique mountain-top accommodation for 18 Scouts, overnighting in a historic stone hut on top of Table Mountain.
Hawequas Scout Adventure Centre
Multiple camp sites and 7 indoor accommodation venues ranging from the Rondavel with 2 beds up to the Ole House with over 20 beds.
There is a well equipped kitchen, ablution blocks, water and electricity.
Hire of camping equipment possible.
Transport: Wellington rail station 1h30 hike. Approximately 7 km from Wellington.
