After years of diligent and dedicated service as Chair: National Finance Committee, John Sturgeon will be stepping down in March 2024. We are grateful for his dedication and hard work and the time and effort that he spent in keeping our books.

We now welcome Fr Charles Prince to the National Team as the new Acting Chair: National Finance Committee.

Fr Charles is a stalwart in the Western Cape Scouting community. He joined the Scout Movement as a Cub, grew up and experienced many adventures as a Sea Scout at 2nd Plumstead and later as a Rover with various Crews. As an Adult Leader, he has served in many roles at Group, District, Regional and National levels. He is also a member of the Western Cape Adult Leader Training Team and has been serving as the Regional Finance Representative for several years. Fr Charles has an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the Movement and Scouting finances.

In his ministry as a Catholic Priest, he has also served in various roles in the Western Cape, including responsibility for youth ministry in the Archdiocese of Cape Town and oversight for the Archdiocese’s properties, a role he currently occupies while also serving as the Parish Priest of Christ the King parish in Pinelands.

We look forward to working with him as he steps into office in January 2024 for a handover period till March 2024.
