Dear Scout Members,
We heard your suggestions at the National Lekgotla on how to improve the Scout Experience for our youth and adult volunteers alike. One thing was clear, to better our services to you, it is important that we know who you are and where you run your Scout programmes. Knowing our Adult Volunteers allows both the District, Regional and National Teams to support you better.
This is why we are calling on all our Adult Volunteers to ensure that they have profiles registered on SCOUTS South Africa’s Member Management System – ‘Scouts.Digital’ – by 31 March 2024. This is also a Child Protection and Safe from Harm requirement.
To facilitate this, our National IT team is working on digitising the Application for Adult Membership forms and the upload of certified IDs directly onto SD. DC’s, would then receive a notice to approve the digital application. We aim to launch this feature early in 2024.
Until then, the current application process can still be used. We call on all Adult Volunteers not on Scouts.Digital, to email their Application for Adult Membership forms, along with their certified IDs, to either their SGLs, DCs or the RTC Adult Support to upload on their behalf. Criminal/Police Clearances still need to be emailed to policeclearance@scouts.org.za
