Additional Information
Rotary Scout is a 39’ cruising yacht owned by SCOUTS South Africa. During the Cape summer season she is moored at the Royal Cape Yacht Club in Table Bay near Cape Town’s city centre and during winter at a mooring at the False Bay Yacht Club next to Simon’s Town in the southern part of the Cape peninsula. Both of these yacht clubs generously sponsor her moorings each year.
The yacht is managed by a group of dedicated volunteers who, together with the generous help of sponsors that provide much-needed funds and equipment, keep her in ship-shape condition year round. By all accounts Rotary Scout is one of the most sailed yachts in South Africa, which is attributed to her dedicated skippers and crew who put in countless hours to ensure that as many scouts as possible throughout South Africa get to experience keel boat sailing.
