Kon-Tiki 2017: Local is Lekker!

Howzit my chinas!

Yoh, but it’s lekker to be back at Kon-Tiki, né!? This year is gonna be tight, my bru.

We’re going 100% local this time, which is totally hundreds. Everything that you love about Mzansi, from boerewors, to kwaito, to Sophie Ndaba, to Nandos – it’s all part of the Rainbow Nation that Madiba inspired us to be. Variation, quirkiness, stereotypes, inclusivity, colour, culture… you name it, South Africa is where it’s at!

So, practise your pantsula, bring out your beadwork, ready your rugby game, or tune up your taxi, because inspiration is everywhere, and it’s vibrant, and it’s LEKKER!

In |Xam, the words of the South African motto on our coat of arms read “ ǃke e: ǀxarra ǁke”, which means “Diverse People Unite” . Let’s unite at the 2017 Local is Lekker Kon-Tiki, and demonstrate the beautiful spirit of what it means to be a part of this magnificent country.
