Nominate your Scout Leader for one of these!

Today, on World Humanitarian Day, we acknowledge the people who choose to step forward, serve others and make a difference in their communities. Recognising the difference our Adult volunteers make should be celebrated with an Award nomination.

When we think about Scouting Awards, we might immediately think about Long Service. That is true, but recognition in SCOUTS South Africa goes even further. Our Recognition and Awards Programme celebrates different forms of service, merit, exceptional contribution, conduct and achievement.

These include:

  • Special thanks, National Citations, and Commendations: Thank you certificates, Thanks metal pins, Regional Commissioner Commendations, and Chief Scout Commendations.
  • Service Awards: recognising many years of service to the SA Scout Movement.
  • Merit Awards: Certificate of Merit, Medal of Merit, and Bar to Medal of Merit.
  • SCOUTS SA National Orders: Order of the Silver Protea, Bar to the Order of the Silver Protea, and the Order of the Silver Springbok.
  • Meritorious Conduct: Certificate of Meritorious Conduct, Medal of Meritorious Conduct, and the Bar to the Medal of Meritorious Conduct.
  • Gallantry Awards: Cornwell Court Certificate, Cornwell Scout Badge, Bronze Cross, Silver Cross, and Gold Cross.
  • Republic of South Africa National Orders

Recognition can celebrate the impact a Scouter has made, exceptional commitment, significant contribution and service that goes beyond expectations.

So, remember the challenge we have set! Keep your eyes open. Who is the go-getter in your Group? Who is always willing to step up? Who has made a real difference? Take some time to nominate the people in your Group, District, Region or National team who deserve to be recognised. Explore the SCOUTS SA Recognition and Awards HERE.
